The Youth Activity Center is a safe, nurturing after-school center for families that need affordable child care.

Child care is viewed as a luxury to many.

The Youth Activity Center provides and assists in the building of youth for their successful transition to adulthood. YAC reinforces social and emotional development, parental and community engagement, and academic enrichment through supervised afterschool art, cultural, educational and recreational activities. We provide services to South Palm Beach County children ages five to twelve and who are from low-income families.

After SchoolAfter School Program

The Center provides children's activities run by qualified teachers, coaches, and dedicated staff. The program is offereds Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and YAC vehicles pick up children from six area schools in Boca Raton: Coral Sunset Elementary, Del Prado Elementary, Hammock Point Elementary, Sandpiper Shores Elementary, Verde Elementary, and Waters Edge Elementary. Children are assisted with homework and offered computer, art, acting and sports activities. Self-esteem and conflict resolution lessons are also emphasized.

HomeworkSummer Program

Located in the beautiful, wooded Veteran’s Park, the Center is reminiscent of a summer camp in the mountains. The atmosphere is relaxed yet structured, and the children can choose among a variety of activities to do both indoors and outside in the park, soccer field and tennis or basketball courts. The summer camping program operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Youth program provides children with a supervised and safe location to play sports and games.

Family Services

The Center provides a link to services in the community for parents who need help, but are unable or unaware of community resources. The staff assists families to obtain social services, health care and other vital services.

Revenue Sources

The Youth Activity Center’s Funding comes from the Palm Beach County Board of Commissioners, the Children Services Council of Palm Beach County, Family Central, and private-sector gifts from area foundations, corporations and donors.
